What is Pea Gravel?
Pea gravel is a smooth, rounded 3/8-inch stone in warm natural tones. Each piece is naturally tumbled, so it feels comfortable underfoot and stays cooler than concrete in summer heat, which is why it is a favorite for walkways, garden beds, playgrounds, and pool decks across South Florida.
Because the pieces are rounded, pea gravel does not lock together the way crushed stone does. That makes it a poor choice for driveways or anything that needs compaction, and a great choice anywhere you want a soft, finished surface. Edge restraint keeps it in place, and a weed barrier underneath keeps maintenance near zero.
