What is Recycled Concrete Base Rock?
Recycled concrete base rock is made by crushing clean concrete into a 3/4-inch-minus gradation. You may also hear it called crushed concrete or recycled concrete aggregate — it is the same material: a cost-effective base that behaves much like limerock in sandy Florida soil.
It is a practical base for driveways, equipment pads, and temporary access roads, and a sensible pick when the budget matters. Because it contains fines, it is a compactor — not a drainage stone — so do not put it where water needs to flow freely, such as inside a French drain.
