Asphalt millings are reclaimed asphalt pavement, ground up when old roads and parking lots are resurfaced. The grindings still contain the original asphalt binder, so they pack back down under sun, traffic, and a roller into a firm, dark surface that resists washouts in Florida downpours.
Millings are a common pick for long driveways and acreage properties west of the Turnpike, where a full asphalt pour would be overkill. They go down fast, stay cooler-colored than fresh asphalt, and can be regraded and recompacted as needed over the years.
